Case Studies

Project Alpha
The fund was an institutional-grade investment platform backed by experienced GPs and leading families in India. With a strong track record and established credibility, the fund was nearing close and sought to exercise a USD 20 million green shoe option from a highly selective LP base.
Valence Growth Partners was mandated to structure and execute the green shoe raise. The objective was precision capital from aligned individuals and family offices rather than broad distribution. The mandate was successfully executed through focused LP mapping and direct outreach.
Closing a Selective USD 20 Million Green Shoe
The fund had already built a credible institutional base. The requirement was to close an additional USD 20 million from a narrow and deliberate LP group. This was about strengthening the cap table, not expanding it indiscriminately.

Identifying Investors Who Strengthen the LP Base
The fund did not need visibility. It needed alignment. Our role was to identify individuals and families whose cheque size, portfolio construction, and long-term orientation matched the GP’s philosophy.

Mapping LPs Through Behaviour and Historical Patterns
Execution depended on strong on-ground capability. We worked with established partners in Portugal who have successfully processed over 80 applications, ensuring compliance, fund safety, and smooth application handling.

Targeted Outreach to First-Time Fund Investors
Several individuals and family offices had long been interested in private funds but lacked access to institutional platforms. We positioned the opportunity accordingly and structured conversations around long-term alignment.

Closing with High-Quality, Long-Term Capital
A large European family office was onboarded alongside smaller Indian angel cheques, successfully closing the green shoe and strengthening the long-term composition of the fund’s investor base.

Impact
• USD 20M green shoe successfully closed
• 3 new LPs added to the fund
• First-time fund investors onboarded into institutional private markets
